Earn a $500 Gift Card for Free iPad

The Abstract

I am not the biggest fan of Apple products and one reason is because of their insane price premium they slap on their products. I am amazed at how Apple transformed into a fashionable brand with intensely loyal and diehard consumers.

Even though my Junior High School had Apple products I never became comfortable with the Apple OS. The clumsiness and error prone windows system was easier for me to use and I never caught Apple fever.

I do have an HP TouchPad and if you are considering an iPad I would definitely suggest buying a Bluetooth keyboard. Since you can get the basic 16GB WiFi iPad for only $500 you only have to pay for a keyboard and you have a budget Apple laptop. That weighs half of what the cheapest Macbook air does and it costs about half the price (if you were a sucker and had to buy it).Continuing that line of thinking you can buy the cheapest Macbook Air for the price of an iPad.

See how searching for the “best deal” can turn from something frugal into spending more money than we originally intended and on something we weren’t interested in to begin with.

That can happen to me when I first get in on a deal and then you search for ways to maximize your value but I start over reaching for things I do not need, “but wait I can get a laptop half-half but then if I get the best laptop it would be the same price as the mid-tier laptop but what if I just got two laptops and then it would be an even greater steal”  *breath*

I do not need that stuff. Bad American Consumerism, bad.  Search for the frugal mind’s eye and focus on what is the “best deal” for you and don’t feel like you need to buy more than what you need for this to be a “good deal”.

Free iPad

Here is a chance for anybody who was on the fence about buying an Apple product to go stake their claim. This is another deal made by the  good folks over at Fidelity and all of the same T&C’s apply for this deal.

This opportunity is available to anybody. If you already got in on the frequent flyer mile offers you can stack this after you bank your Delta SkyMiles.  If you are new to this offer I would go back to the frequent flyer mile promos (all offers are live in that post) first and then end it with a nice $500 gift card from Apple.

This time around the minimum deposits are quite a bit higher than for the Frequent Flyer Mile promos but the $300 gift card at $150,000 should be no problem for people who already got in on those deals.  This offer expires June 30, 2012.

Fidelity Apple Gift Certificate iPad Free Half off macbook

You have 30 days to complete deposit from date of enrollment.

If you already completed other deals you should automatically qualify for the $100 gift card tier.

Which Git Card Tier will you get?

Whats different from the AA/Delta offer is that For the apple offer .. It does say that money has to stay in there for 9 months or else the cost of the gc may be charged to the customer?! what r ur thoughts about that one?!

      Thanks for the comment @f7360ee4fceb426d3b9f2a7906368ec5:disqus.

The Apple T&C’s are a bit more aggressive than those written up for the Frequent Flyer Programs.

But people are still bicycling their funds and getting the GC’s with no problem and nowhere near the minimum balance required.

Fidelity has been so lax enforcing the T&C’s I do not see them being a hardliner about them now.

I think any level Apple Gift card is worth the risk because Apple products are so expensive. But don’t get me wrong there is definitely risk with this promo.

Only apply if you feel comfortable with paying for the GC if things take a turn for the worst.

Good point. I guess if u were going to buy the apple product anyway.. Might as well try to get it for “free.” if it fails.. U just pay for what u would have paid :D

Sorry but who’s got 300K laying around for a random deposit?

    • travel_abstract

I don’t but if you have a good amount in a savings and/or brokerage account somewhere else you can get in on this too.

Example: if you have 25k you can cycle it 3 times to get the $100 offer. It would be hard to do it 6 times in 30 days for $300 Gift Card but you can try.

So if you had $50k you could cycle it 3 times or try 6 times to get the $500.
